Gracias mis amigos! Thank you for your continued support. I have worked tirelessly for positive changes since you elected me Democratic Party Chair in 2008. The changes include, creating and maintaining a visible website that promotes inclusiveness with all our Democratic clubs, up-to-date social network forums, continued campaign guidance and support for all Democratic candidates, organizing get-out-the-vote grassroots efforts, conducting primary elections, screening election judges, clerks, and poll watchers, organizing our Democratic county convention, and establishing and organizing a stable, yearly fundraising event; DISCO DONKEY. These are just some of the activities that I work on for you week in and week out.
For almost four years now I have spent countless hours as your chair; truly working through a labor of love, although there is no salary or wages, no health insurance, no retirement, or any other compensation for this elected position. Many may ask why anyone would want to work this hard with no pay and the answer is simply that I, like you, truly believe in and continue to fight for our Democratic Party and its values of the common good, opportunity for all, justice, equality and diversity.
Still, the reality is that in our large county campaigns cost money and in my two prior campaigns I have spent my own funds and not asked for much in campaign contributions. Now it’s time to pay off my campaign debt and work towards my re-election campaign so I am asking you for your help. Your contribution of $10, $25, $50, $100 or any other amount will help me continue to serve Hidalgo County as Democratic party chair. I humbly ask for your support in this challenge and invite you to get involved in my campaign.
